Cat-Scratch Disease Associated With peripheral Pancytopenia

Abstract
|
|
|
A case of cat-starth disease in a four year old Korean girl is reported, with a brief
review of the literature. Clinical manifestations and pathologic findings of the
lymphnodes are presented in detail. The patient presented peripheral pancytopenia and
enlargement of the cervical and right epitrochlear lymphnodes which suggested a
malignancy of the lymphoreticular system. A Possible pathogenesis of the pancytopenia
associated with the disease is discussed. This diagnosis of cat-scratch disease in this
case is achieved by the criteria proposed previously.
